Urban Art Fair 2016 Brixton – in pictures
With Urban Art Brixton celebrating their 15th year, the tree lined Josephine Avenue in SW2 was once again transformed into a bustling open air Art Fair, Saturday and Sunday 9th & 10th July.
Over 200 contemporary artists exhibited each day showing a great wealth of creative skills between Painters, Photographers, Print Makers, Mixed Media and Street Art.
Visitors had the opportunity to buy work direct from the artists and discover Exhibitors ranging from the novice to the established. With prices to match, this was an event for all art lovers, whatever the budget. The event proved successful with visitors of all ages and the great community atmosphere appealed to local and non-locals alike.
We especially enjoyed the chance to see artist at work and to pry the exhibitors about their process and inspiration.
Following last year’s success, the fair repeated their exciting Street Art area organized by PositiveArts.co.uk where artists created live work on nine White Walls and a giant Shipping Container. The walls and container where then moved down to Brixton Square to be displayed the following two weeks.
